Shirley’s Sewing Room
In 1989 Shirley’s Sewing Room opened in a small room adjoining a craft store – hence the name, it was about the size of an average person’s “sewing room”. After 2 more moves we are now in a much bigger “room”, but still next door to that craft store.
Moosomin is a small town of about 3500 people but quilter’s come from many miles away to take part in our many clubs and classes. We are known for our friendliness and willingness to help anyone with their projects.
The walls are filled with many samples of quilts, table, wall, bags and whatever else we can make to tempt the next person through the door. Once we have tempted you to become a quilter we have all the gadgets, patterns, books and fabrics to make your next project successful.

Our fabrics cover a wide selection, from flannels, batiks, brights, pastels and country. We are a Bernina dealership and have machines set up in our classroom for those who can’t bring their own machine. We publish a newsletter twice a year to keep everyone informed of all the great things we are doing. These include “Saturday Sampler, Breakfast Club, Marti and Me club, retreats, and a great selection of classes.
Our motto is – “Inspiration is free, fabric is extra!” We travel and research the market to make sure we are up to date on all the newest notions and techniques.
